Dates: Monday, September 8 to Friday, September 12, 2025
Location: Kasteelhoeve Wange: https://www.kasteelhoevewange.be/
This is a training to learn all the IFS fundamentals.
There is no prerequisite for this training.
This is for anyone interested in IFS, anyone in the helping profession who wants to start integrating IFS into their practice, or anyone who is personally interested in how IFS can make deep changes in their life.
This training will be conducted entirely in English; however, practice groups can be held in Dutch if participants prefer.
Course Description: Internal Family Systems (IFS) Training
In this comprehensive IFS training, participants will learn to skillfully apply the core principles and practices of the Internal Family Systems model through a combination of didactic teaching, experiential practice, and embodied integration. Key learning objectives include:
Learn to safely connect with Exiles, including the steps for healing wounded parts and supporting them in releasing burdens carried from past experiences.
Understand how to support the reintegration of healed Exiles and the unburdening process for Protectors when appropriate.
Cultivate awareness of your own therapist parts, and learn how to return to Self Energy in order to maintain a grounded, compassionate presence with clients.
Participate in daily movement and somatic practices designed to support embodiment, integration, and group connection.
Engage in structured daily practice groups to apply the skills and concepts taught, as well as regular small-group sharing sessions to process learning, reflect on personal insights, and deepen integration.
Gain a clear understanding of the foundational concepts of IFS, including Parts, Self Energy, and the internal system as a whole.
Explore the various types of parts—Managers, Firefighters, and Exiles—and their distinct roles within the internal system.
Develop the ability to become a “parts detector,” going beyond reflective listening to attune deeply to the presence and nature of parts within clients.
Learn and apply the 6 F’s of parts work: Find, Focus, Flesh out, Feel toward, beFriend, and explore their Fears.
Develop skills to engage with protective parts, supporting them to unblend from clients and building a trusting relationship to access deeper healing.
Understand common concerns and fears of protectors, and how to respectfully address their needs.
